Rafael Benitez, the successful manager of the Premier League club Newcastle United will be leaving the club when his contract expires on Sunday, June 30. Many fans of the team were disappointed and angered by this negative conclusion of the long talks aimed at extending the stay of the manager.

Reportedly, the club Dalian Yifang from China has offered the manager a contract that will bring him around $15 million a year, even though Benitez previously said that he wanted to stay in Europe in the future, preferably in the Premier League.

Newcastle United officially stated that the 59-year-old manager will be leaving the club after his contract expires later this week. They have said that they worked hard for a great period of time to extend Benitez’s contract, but it wasn’t possible to reach an agreement with him.

In the meanwhile, Newcastle’s fate is still unknown. The owner of the club, Mike Ashley, is trying to sell it for around 440 million dollars, and it was reported that there are a few interested buyers, one of them being the Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed al-Nahyan from Dubai.
