The Las Vegas Raiders announced on Monday the signing of three-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marcus Peters. While the terms of the deal remain undisclosed, several reports suggested that Peters was signed on a one-year deal.

Having missed the entirety of the 2021 season due to a torn ACL, Peters signed as a free agent for the first time upon joining the Raiders. He spent last season at the Baltimore Ravens, making a career-low single interception.

Despite a difficult season with the Ravens, Peters’ experience is viewed as invaluable for the Raiders. His 32 career picks are 26 more than the rest of the Raiders combined. Furthermore, Peters’ two first-team All-Pro appearances make him the team’s most accomplished cornerback.

Upon drafting for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2015, Peters was the Defensive Rookie of the Year, leading the league with eight interceptions and two touchdowns. He later played for the Los Angeles Rams, where he made 32 interceptions, six pick-sixes, and 822 interception return yards; the most for any active player since 2015.
