The Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp stated that he feels “pretty good right now” after going down on the field with an ankle injury during his team’s loss to the San Francisco 49ers. According to the player, his foot got caught during the game, however, it seems like he got away with little more than a minor strain on his ankle.

“Foot got caught, but I think it was able to slide out of there before there was too much damage done, and so, we’ll see over these next few days how it responds,” Kupp stated after his team’s loss. The player was spotted with tape around his right ankle during the post-game press conference.

Rams coach Sean McVay expressed his disappointment in himself for what he believes was poor management of Kupp’s injury during the game, stating that he was, “kicking myself for not running the football again”. Kupp later stated that he holds no hard feelings against McVay for his decision, explaining that he knows that the coach cares deeply about his players and their wellbeing.

Kupp managed to amass eight catches for 79 yards and a touchdown during the loss against the 49ers.
