The NFC and AFC Champions, the Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots, won on Sunday and will meet in Super Bowl LIII.

Sunday´s first game pitted the two top seeds in the NFC, the Rams and the New Orleans Saints. The Rams won in overtime by a final of 26-23, but their win was rife with controversy.

At the end of regulation, the Rams appeared to commit a pass interference penalty that was not called. Had the penalty been called, the Saints would have been able to run out the clock and then kick a game-winning field goal.

Instead, after going up 23-20 with a minute and a half left, the Rams drove down the field and knotted the game up at 23 with a 48-yard Greg Zuerlein field goal. He then made a stunning 57-yard kick to win it for Los Angeles in overtime.

In the nightcap, the New England Patriots beat the Kansas City Chiefs by a 37-31 overtime final score. Tom Brady drove the Patriors down the field in overtime and scored the touchdown that propelled them to their 3rd consecutive AFC championship.

The two teams will meet in Atlanta for Super Bowl LIII on Sunday, February 3 to determine the champion of the NFL.
