The Baltimore Ravens locked tight end Mark Andrews, one of their most reliable weapons on offense, to a four-year extension. The team announced the news late on Monday, the same day Andrews turned 26.

The Ravens did not disclose the financial terms of the deal, but according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the 2018’s third-round pick is set to earn $56 million. This makes Andrews the third highest-paid tight end in terms of annual salary. His $14 million a year only trails the San Francisco 49ers’ George Kittle, who earns $15 million per season, and the Kansas City Chiefs’ Travis Kelce, who makes $14.3 million annually.

Andrews was set to become a free agent next year, but the new deal now ties him with the Ravens through the 2025 NFL season.

“Mark is exactly the type of player we wish to keep as a Raven long term,” said Baltimore general manager Eric DeCosta in a statement. “He’s competitive, passionate, talented, and a leader.”

Getting a long-term commitment from Mark Andrews was one of the Ravens’ primary objectives for this season. Andrews emerged as a favorite target for their star quarterback Lamar Jackson, catching more passes from him than any other Baltimore player in the past three years.

Andrews totaled 156 receptions for 2,105 yards and 20 touchdowns since entering the league in 2018. His 17 TDs in the past two years are the most by a tight end in the same period and rank eighth overall among all pass-catchers.
