The Baltimore Ravens’ starting running back J.K. Dobbins is facing another lengthy spell on the sidelines. According to the team announcement on Friday, Dobbins has had knee surgery and will be out between four and six weeks.

Dobbins, who missed the entire 2021 after an ACL tear, underwent surgery after experiencing stiffness in his knee. He rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown while adding six receptions for 39 yards and a score in four games this season.

The Ravens also announced they are adding veteran back Gus Edwards to the active roster. Edwards hadn’t played in more than a year, suffering a season-ending knee injury before the 2021 campaign kicked off. However, offensive coordinator Greg Roman believes the 27-year-old player is now healthy again and can contribute right away.

“Gus is looking really good,” Roman told reporters earlier this week. “I think he’s on track. We’re really excited about having him back.”

If they are not able to get much from Edwards, the Ravens will probably decide to ride the duo of Kenyan Drake and Justice Hill. Drake is coming off a stellar performance against the New York Giants in Week 6, when he rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown. Hill, on the other hand, has 125 yards rushing in a limited role so far in 2022.
