Le’Veon Bell’s NFL comeback with the Baltimore Ravens didn’t last long. The three-time Pro Bowler was waived by the Ravens on Tuesday, with the team confirming the news on their social media.

Bell can now be claimed by other NFL teams. Still, that doesn’t seem likely at the moment, and he will probably become a free agent once he clears waivers.

The Ravens signed Bell in early September following a series of season-ending injuries in the backfield. The 29-year-old spent some time on the team’s practice squad before being activated for a Week 4 matchup against the Denver Broncos. He was signed to the active roster in Week 7.

Bell’s time in Baltimore didn’t go as expected as he struggled to make an impact when called upon. He mostly served in the reserve role and managed only 83 rushing yards on 31 carries in five games he played. The 2.7 yards per carry was his career-worst.

Baltimore is now left with three running backs on their roster. Veteran Latavius Murray is currently serving as the team’s number one back, while former Pro Bowler Devonta Freeman and second-year player Ty’Son Williams are expected to play a complementary role.

Bell, on the other hand, is moving on and will have to attempt to get his career back on track somewhere else. This might be an uphill battle, as it is unclear whether teams will be interested in his services at the moment, considering his poor performances in recent years.
