Red Bull Leipzig completed what will surely become one of the Bundesliga’s biggest moves of the summer transfer window on Tuesday, inking South Korean forward Hwang Hee-chan to a five-year deal for a reported transfer fee of $16 million.
Hee-Chan, who has starred for Red Bull Salzburg over the past few seasons, will now have a chance to try his luck in the Bundesliga and the Champions League.

After spending last season on loan in Germany’s second division with Hamburger, the 24-year-old returned to Austria this season and officially had his breakout season.
He recorded a total of 16 goals and 22 assists across domestic and European competitions this season, impressing with his knack for the goal and play-making ability.
Hee-Chan is expected to immediately become one of Leipzig’s top offensive threats as he looks to make his mark in one of the world’s top leagues.
After a breakout 2019-20 season, the sky is truly the limit for one of soccer’s most interesting young stars as he looks to prove his worth in Germany.
