Real Madrid appears to be kicking into high gear in the Champions League under three-time competition winner Zinedine Zidane. They took care of Turkish Super Lig champions with ease on Wednesday night at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, dominating their opposition in a 6-0 blowout.

Los Blancos were relentless in their demolition of a Galatasaray side that looked hapless against the 13-time Champions League winners. Real Madrid scored its first goal when 18-year-old Rodrygo scored in the 4th minute of the match, and they didn’t take their feet off of the gas.

Rodrygo scored again in the 7th minute on a header, recording a brace in the first several minutes of the match. Sergio Ramos extended Real Madrid’s lead to 3-0 only 7 minutes later after a penalty, and Madrid pushed its lead to 4-0 just before halftime after Karim Benzema found the net.

Los Blancos continued to suffocate Galatasaray in the second half, barely allowing the Turkish team to create any dangerous chances. Benzema scored his second goal of the night in the 81st minute, and then Rodrygo scored again during extra time to give himself a historic hat trick and to push the score to its 6-0 final.

Real Madrid now finds itself in second place in Group A with 7 points. They appear to be a good bet to advance to the knockout stage of the competition along with first-place Paris St. Germain.
