Real Madrid didn’t allow for any surprises at 2022 Club World Cup. Facing Saudi Arabia side Al Hilal in the tournament finals, the La Liga powerhouse took care of business with a 5-3 win and added more silverware to their trophy room.

Real now has five Club World Cup titles, having won the tournament each time they took part in it. The next on the all-time list is their bitter rival Barcelona, who have three wins.

Real Madrid entered the finals as a heavy favorite, but it turned out Al Hilal came to compete. Vinicius Jr. and Federico Valverde gave Real an early 2-0 lead, but Hilal managed to make it 2-1 before halftime thanks to Moussa Marega.

Karim Benzema scored less than 10 minutes into the second period before Valverde added his second goal four minutes later to make it 4-1. The Saudi club managed to cut the deficit through Luciano Vietto in the 63rd minute, but Vinicius increased the gap once again in the 69th minute. Vietto would go on to complete a brace, but that was all Al Hilal managed to do.

In the match for third place, Brazilian side Flamengo has beaten Egypt’s Al Ahly 4-2 to take home the bronze medal.
