Real Madrid’s star striker Karim Benzema is “seriously” considering a lucrative offer from an unnamed Saudi Arabia club, according to soccer insider Fabrizio Romano. Benzema is under contract with the La Liga giants until the summer of 2024.

According to Romano, Benzema already informed Real about the approach from Saudi Arabia and will take some time before making the final decision. It is believed that the Spanish club would allow the player to leave if he decides to do so.

Romano didn’t share the details of the offer, but several other reports mentioned that Benzema would get $400 million for two seasons. This is in range with what his former Real teammate Cristiano Ronaldo got from Saudi Pro League side Al-Nasr in January.

Karim Benzema joined Real Madrid in 2009 and established himself as one of the club legends. He scored 353 goals across all competitions and is second on the club’s all-time leading goalscorers list behind Ronaldo. His 647 appearances are fifth all-time.

During his time with Real, Benzema helped the club win 25 trophies, including four La Liga titles and five UEFA Champions Leagues. He also won a number of individual accolades, including being named Ballon d’Or winner in 2022.
