Cincinnati Reds are adding more firepower to their roster via free agency. According to ESPN’s Jeff Passan, Reds have signed outfielder Nick Castellanos to a four-year deal on Monday.

Castellanos’ contract with Cincinnati is reportedly worth more than $64 million and contains an opt-out clause for the 27-year-old after the first season.

Nick Castellanos opened 2019 with Detroit Tigers, where he played since the start of his MLB career but ended being traded to the Chicago Cubs midway through the season. He ended up getting hot with the Cubs, batting .321 with 16 home runs and 36 RBIs in 50 games with the organization.

Castellanos’ career stats include .277 batting average, 120 homers, and 460 RBIs. He was also AL’s triples leader in 2017.

Reds already spent big this offseason, bringing in All-Star infielder Mike Moustakas also on a four-year, $64 million deal. Moustakas and Castellanos are now tied on the second spot of Cincinnati’s highest-paid list, with first baseman Joey Votto sitting at first with a $25 million annual salary.
