After winning the match against Hannover 96 in Munich, Bayern Munich has a sad announcement to make. Today Bayern confirmed that the team’s favorite duo Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery are playing their last season in the Bundesliga champion team. This will be their last season and in 2020 a testimonial game will be played for both of them.

The chairman of Bayern Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said that Arijen and Franck are great players and that Bayern owes a lot to them and they will get an emotional and wonderful farewell too. He also said that they were part of and helped form the best decade in the history of Bayern Munich.

Arjen Robben, who is 35 years old stated that he planned to leave the club during the summer of 2019, earlier this season. Ribery, on the other hand, who is 36, was hoping to stay in the team for at least another year after his 12-year long career in Bayern.

Ribery said on Bayern’s website that it won’t be easy to say goodbye but they should never forget what they achieved together.

Ribery scored in the last Bayern – Hannover game that ended 3 – 1.
