Robert Lewandowski has now spent 6 seasons terrorizing opponents’ defenses with Bayern Munich, and he’s going to stick around for awhile longer.

The Polish striker has re-upped with the Bundesliga giants, inking a new contract that will keep him with the club through the end of the 2022-23 season. This will mean that he will have played 10 seasons with the Bavarians by the time his contract runs up.

It isn’t a surprise that the seven-time defending Bundesliga champions decided to keep the 31-year-old around, as he’s still going strong and scoring goals. Lewandowski found the back of the net 40 times in 47 total games with Bayern last season, finishing as the top scorer in the league.

He’s also off to a rousing start this season, scoring all 5 of Bayern Munich’s goals in their first two games of the new campaign.

The Warsaw native is a fundamental part of the team that signed him for a $57 million fee from rival Borussia Dortmund back in July of 2014, and he is clearly expected to remain a big part of the perennial Bundesliga and Champions League contenders for even more seasons.

Lewandowski and Bayern will look to stay hot against Mainz this weekend.
