Despite having signed a contract with the Houston Rockets last summer, Carmelo Anthony´s time with the team is now coming to an end.

The Houston Rockets have agreed to a deal, whose full terms are still unknown, with the Chicago Bulls. They will trade Anthony and cash considerations to the 11-36 Chicago Bulls.

After acquiring Kenneth Faried in another trade last weekend, Houston had to clear a roster spot for their new addition, and they decided to ship out Anthony.

Despite signing a $2.4 million contract with Houston last summer, the aging veteran didn´t work out with the Rockets and only appeared in 10 games with the team.

The Bulls, who are currently in a rebuilding phase, do not intend to keep Anthony on their active roster.

Instead, they will look to trade Anthony to another contender that could be interested in his services.

Rumors have already begun to swirl around Anthony and a potential move to the Los Angeles Lakers. Anthony has maintained a close friendship with Lakers star LeBron James throughout their careers, and it seems possible that LA could take a gamble on Carmelo.

The Bulls will have until February 7, the trade deadline, to deal Anthony.
