Seattle Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson threw five touchdown passes against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, leading his team to a 38-31 victory and a 3-0 start to the 2020 NFL season.

To say that Wilson is playing well would be a massive understatement. Wilson is playing out of his mind. In fact, the Seattle signal caller set a new NFL record on Sunday, throwing a total of 14 touchdown passes in the first three games of the season. He also became the only quarterback to throw four or more touchdowns in each of his team’s first three games.

Wilson had four in Week 1, and five apiece in Weeks 2 and 3.

If he continues slinging TDs at this pace, Wilson can potentially throw 75 touchdown passes this season. That would be 20 more than the NFL record 55 TDs in one season set by Peyton Manning with the Denver Broncos in 2013. Wilson would now need to average a bit over three TDs a game to break the record.

As of right now, all signs point to an MVP caliber season. Wilson’s current passer rating is at an astounding 139.0 after three games. To put that stat in perspective, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers set a single-season record with a 122.5 rating in 2011 when he was named the league MVP.
