The Seattle Seahawks’ already deep wideout core is getting a boost for the final stretch of the regular NFL season. According to multiple reports, Seahawks veteran wide receiver Josh Gordon was conditionally reinstated by the league and will be at the team’s disposal in Weeks 16 and 17.

Due to COVID-19 protocols, Gordon first has to get multiple negative tests before being able to join his teammates and participate in team activities. He can return to practice after December 21st, which puts him in the position of getting on the field in Seattle’s last two games.

Gordon played five games for Seattle last season, getting seven receptions for 139 yards and averaging an impressive 19.9 yards per catch. He didn’t get to finish the season, after the NFL suspended him indefinitely for violating many of their policies. This was the 29-year-old’s fifth suspension since he entered the league in 2012.

Despite the suspension, Seattle re-signed Gordon back in September, hoping that he could return at some point of the season. It appears now that the gamble has paid off, because the Seahawks can now count on him to help clinch the NFC West title and make a deep playoff run.

Gordon will join Seattle’s wide receiver corps that features standout second-year player DK Metcalf, one-time Pro Bowler Tyler Lockett, 2020 sixth-round pick Freddie Swain, and veteran Phillip Dorsett.
