Tottenham Hotspur turned in a huge performance on Sunday afternoon, dispatching of their north London rivals Arsenal by a 2-0 final score, which gave them three points and the lead in the Premier League standings.

Jose Mourinho’s Spurs, who have been the breakout team thus far in the 2020-21 campaign, were clinical and deadly in front of the net, despite allowing the Gunners to hold possession of the ball in 70% of the match and shoot 13 times.

Even though they did not have much of the ball, Spurs’ defense held strong and did their job, allowing a pair of strikes by star forwards Harry Kane and Heung-Min Son to be the difference makers that led them to their seventh victory of the season.

Tottenham’s first goal of the match came only thirteen minutes into the game as Son shot from long range and delivered a picture-perfect shot into the upper right corner of the goal, beating Bernd Leno with an unstoppable strike.

Spurs got their second goal just before the first half whistle blew. This took place right after star striker Harry Kane was assisted by Son in the box, and beat Leno with a strong strike from close range.

The goal was the 250th of Kane’s magnificent career for Club and Country, and the fact that it was against the Spurs’ bitter rival is something he won’t soon forget.

The Spurs now stand two points clear of Chelsea at the top of the table and will look to keep their momentum going with a mid-week Europa League clash against Royal Antwerp before traveling to Crystal Palace for some Premier League action.
