The Baltimore Ravens have made a trade with the Minnesota Vikings that nets them prized defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, who the Ravens have been interested in signing all year.

The Vikings are getting a third-round pick in the 2021 draft and a conditional fifth-round pick in the 2022 draft in exchange for Ngakoue, who they traded for this season in a deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Baltimore defense is currently the best in the NFL, giving up only 17.3 points per game. If Ngakoue plays up to his potential and gives the Ravens the elite pass rusher that they hope he will be, the Ravens defense could get even better.

Baltimore is already looking towards the playoffs, building an elite defense with the hope of being able to stop reigning Super Bowl MVP Patrick Mahomes who leads the potent Kansas City Chiefs offense.

Baltimore made an effort to get Ngakoue from the Jaguars earlier this year, but the Vikings made a better offer. They were also in the running for another premier pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, who ended up going to the Tennesee Titans.

Ngakoue will also be reunited with defensive end Calais Campbell, who he played with on the excellent Jaguars defense that led Jacksonville to the AFC Championship Game in 2017. The Ravens signed Campbell earlier this year.
