Celtic FC announced the signing of former West Ham United striker Albian Ajeti on a four-year contract after paying a reported transfer fee of $6 million.

Ajeti, who at only 23-years-old has already received 10 caps for the Swiss national team, joins the Premiership giants after a disappointing 2019-20 with West Ham in which he played in only 8 games.

The Swiss striker had joined West Ham for $10 million last summer after a successful beginning to his career at Basel in his native country, in which he scored a plentiful total of 29 goals in only 58 matches played. Despite never making headway at West Ham, Celtic still believes that the talented young scorer has plenty of goals left in his boots.

Ajeti, who was the Swiss Super League’s top scorer in the 2017-18 season with 17 goals, is expected to compete for a starting role at the Scottish club right off the bat. He will join young French forward Odsonne Edouard as one of the team’s main scoring options up top as they look to win their tenth straight Scottish domestic crown and make headway in European competitons.

Expect Ajeti to debut for Celtic in the next couple of weeks.
