One of the soccer world’s biggest pieces fell on Tuesday when Real Madrid officially agreed to a deal to sign striker Luka Jovic.

The young goal-scorer went to the Spanish club after Los Blancos spent 60€ million in transfer fees to acquire the rights to the Serbian striker.

Jovic had spent the past two seasons playing for Bundesliga side Eintracht Frankfurt.

The 21-year-old broke out in the 2018-19 season, leading the German club to an appearance in the UEFA Europa League Final. He finished the season with 27 total goals in 46 matches.

Jovic is set to become a big part of Real Madrid’s attack. He will join a front line which is already anchored by a veteran talent in French superstar Karim Benzema as well as Brazilian wunderkind Vinicius Junior.

After Real Madrid’s disappointing third-place finish in La Liga as well as a Round of 16 exit in the Champions League, the pressure will be high on Jokic to help step up and replace the hole left by Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure to Juventus.

Jokic officially becomes property of Real Madrid in July. He is expected to join his new team when pre-season matches and training begin that same month.
