Sevilla FC has confirmed that they have exercised their purchase option for former AC Milan winger Suso after he spent the second half of the season on loan in Spain.

Sevilla will pay nearly $30 million for the winger, who impressed as part of Sevilla’s Champions League qualifying run which saw them qualify for the continent’s premier club soccer competition in the upcoming season.

The speedy winger is a youth product of both Cadiz and Liverpool, the latter of which gave him his senior team debut in 2012 at the ripe age of 19.

Suso, who spent six years in Italy with the historic Milan side, left on loan in January after both himself and the club were frustrated with each other’s performances in a disappointing season. He then found his stride with Julen Lopetegui’s side, figuring as a part-time starter and recording a goal and an assist in 17 La Liga appearances.

The former Liverpool player has made multiple appearances for both the Spanish senior national team as well as its youth sides over the years.

The Andalusia native will return to his home region on a five-year deal which will keep him at the Sanchez Pijuan through the 2024-25 season.
