The month-long saga about the future of Aaron Rodgers has finally come to an end. According to multiple reports, the New York Jets have made a trade with the Green Bay Packers that will see them land Rodgers as their quarterback for the 2023 NFL season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the deal will see the Jets give up three picks in this year’s draft—No. 13, No. 42, and No. 207—as well as a conditional second-rounder in 2024. In exchange, they are getting Rodgers and No. 16 and No. 170 picks in this year’s draft.

The Jets and the Packers have been working on this trade ever since Rodgers proclaimed that he wanted to play in New York in early March. While a deal always seemed like it was bound to happen, the two teams spent the previous several weeks trying to agree on a proper compensation. The negotiations even stalled at one point before resuming in recent days and leading to a positive outcome.

While some might argue that the Jets overpaid for Rodgers, the fact is that they are getting a player who is just one season removed from back-to-back MVP awards. The 39-year-old player had a down year in 2022 by his standards, but he was asked to play without a true No. 1 wide receiver, and the Packers struggled in all units. Having an abundance of young talents and championship-caliber defense, the Jets can safely assume that Rodgers is the missing piece that will bring them their first Super Bowl since 1968.

Green Bay, on the other hand, will move forwards with 2020’s first-round pick Jordan Love as their new quarterback. Love played 10 games since coming to NFL, including one start, and has thrown for 606 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions.

The Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers has finally revealed his plan for the future, and the news is set to make a lot of football fans in New York happy. During his appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday, Rodgers told host Pat McAfee and the rest of the world that he wants to play for the New York Jets in the 2023 NFL season.

“I made it clear my intention was to play and to play for the New York Jets, and I haven’t been holding anything up,” said Rodgers.

Rodgers explained that he made his decision last Friday and told all the parties involved about it. However, the talks between the Jets and the Packers are still ongoing about the terms of the trade that will land the four-time NFL MVP in New York.

During the interview, Rodgers also said that he went to his infamous “darkness retreat,” which took place in February, thinking that he was 90% percent sure he would retire from professional football. However, after further contemplating his future during four days of “darkness retreat,” he ended up changing his mind.

Several teams reportedly expressed interest in Aaron Rodgers, but the New York Jets made the most convincing pitch. The team’s brass, including owner Woody Johnson and head coach Robert Saleh, visited Rodgers in California last week as part of their efforts to convince him to join the franchise.

If the deal goes over the finishing line, Rodgers will follow the same path as Brett Farve, another legendary Packers’ QB. Farve left the Packers in 2008 to join the Jets, clearing the way for Rodgers to take over as Green Bay’s starter.

The New York Jets are reportedly in talks with the Green Bay Packers over a proposed trade involving Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

According to sources, the conversations were expected to commence on Tuesday, however, there is no indication of the likelihood of the potential trade.

Rodgers has not made any announcements regarding his future with the Packers. It is still unknown whether Rodgers would like to remain with the Packers or if retirement from the NFL is on the table.

Currently, Rodgers is under contract with Green Bay through 2024 for $108.8 million. While the contract technically runs through 2026, both 2025 and 2026 are considered “dummy” years for cap purposes. This season, Rodgers will take home a guaranteed $59.5 million, with $58.3 million coming in the form of an option bonus.

Rodgers has been a topic of conversation for the Jets since the beginning of the offseason when owner Woody Johnson told reporters that he would be willing to invest in the Packers star. The Jets have also confirmed that Zach Wilson, drafted No. 2 overall in 2021, is still not being considered for the starting quarterback role.

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers had to exit from his team’s 40-33 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles early after picking up a rib injury.

After leading a drive that led to a field goal during the third quarter of the game, Rodgers appeared to be in some discomfort. He then jogged off the field and was escorted to the team locker room by the Packers’ medical staff.

Rodgers was X-rayed shortly after the Packers’ loss on Sunday, however, the medical staff stated that it was difficult to tell in the X-rays if he had suffered any fractured ribs. The X-rays did confirm, however, that Rodgers did not have a punctured lung.

The quarterback later revealed that two plays caused his discomfort. The first one in the second quarter saw Rodgers get hit and land awkwardly while the second saw him get sacked by both Haason Reddick and Brandon Graham.

“I knew that he was in a lot of pain,” Packers coach Matt LaFleur revealed. This is one of the toughest dudes that I’ve ever been around, so I don’t ever for one second question his toughness, his desire to be out there, his desire to compete. Matter of fact, he apologized to me and I’m like, ‘Don’t ever apologize to me.’ Like, I’ll never question that.”

The Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has confirmed that his right thumb is broken. While the Packers’ star has been playing despite his injury for over a month, he finally had to come to terms with the reality of being sidelined following confirmation of this news on Wednesday.

It doesn’t make a difference. You saw the tape on my thumb. Didn’t make a difference.” Rodgers said in response to being questioned about his decision to continue playing through his injury.

Rodgers was injured upon being sacked by linebacker Oshane Ximines during the final play of the Packers’ 27-22 loss to the New York Giants on October 9. While attempting a Hail Mary, Rodgers got hit in his throwing arm by Ximines, who forced a fumble.

Following the incident, Rodgers was asked on October 26 whether his thumb was broken. “My thumb is hurt”, Rodgers replied, refusing to deliver any confirmation on the extent of his injury.

The quarterback still insists that he has suffered worse injuries in the past, and he was able to participate in practice on Wednesday after an extended break.

The Green Bay Packers are 3-1, but it’s safe to say that the team hasn’t looked all that convincing to start the 2022 NFL season. This can be especially said for their star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who hasn’t been producing his trademark big plays throughout the first four weeks.

It appears that Rodgers, who is averaging a career-low 6.2 air yards per passing attempt, is well aware of this and hopes to right the wrongs in the upcoming game vs. the New York Giants in London on Sunday.

While speaking with reporters on Friday, Rodgers said that he would have a chat with Green Bay’s head coach Matt LaFleur and try to make his case for more big plays.

“Hell yeah, of course,” Rodgers told reporters. “Matt’s kind of in a grumpy mood right now. When he gets a little bit of rest and will be in a better mood, we’ll talk about airing it out a little bit more.”

After delivering back-to-back MVP seasons, Aaron Rodgers has looked rather sluggish in 2022. He threw for 935 yards and six touchdowns, alongside three interceptions. To put things in context, the 38-year-old had four picks in the entire 2021. Rodgers also has a QBR of 44.8, his lowest mark in the first four games of the season since he became a starter in 2008.

The “will he or will he not?” question revolving around Green Bay Packers star quarterback Aaron Rodgers was finally answered by the man himself. On Tuesday, Rodgers sent out a tweet confirming that he will remain in Green Bay and play for the Packers in 2022.

Rodgers’ future was one of the hottest topics in the NFL ever since the back-to-back NFL MVP asked the Packers to trade him last offseason. In recent weeks, the 38-year-old QB considered several options, including staying with the franchise, playing for another team, or even retiring. In the meantime, Green Bay made a strong push to convince him to keep playing with the same organization that drafted him, and it appears they managed to seal the deal.

According to multiple reports, part of the Packers’ pitch was offering Rodgers a new contract that would make him the highest-paid player in football. However, the player himself called these reports “inaccurate.”

“I’m very excited to be back,” he concluded.

Aaron Rodgers played on an elite level in recent years, winning an MVP award in each of the past two seasons. He finished 2021 with 4,115 passing yards, 37 touchdowns, and only four picks while leading the Packers to a 13-2 record in full games he played. However, the Packers came up short in the playoffs, which is why many people believed Rodgers would end up returning to the team for a redemption campaign.

The Packers now face a challenging offseason in which they need to put a winning roster around Rodgers despite their complicated salary cap situation. They entered the offseason being $45 million over their projected salary cap and have several key players looking for new deals, including wideout Davante Adams.

The 2021 NFL season might be the last in a Green Bay Packers uniform for star quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The reigning NFL MVP had an ugly standoff with the organization in the offseason, and it is believed that Rodgers will be looking to take his talent elsewhere next year. But just don’t expect him to head to Chicago.

Speaking at a press conference ahead of the Packers’ clash against the Chicago Bears in Week 6, Rodgers expressed his appreciation for the city of Chicago and its sports fans. This prompted the reporters to ask him whether he could see himself playing for the Bears at some point.

“No, no,” Rodgers responded. “It’s just not going to happen.”

The Green Bay Packers fans will probably be happy about how Rodgers responded to the question considering they once already lost a future Hall of Fame quarterback to NFC North rival. Franchise legend Bret Favre spent 16 years with Green Bay and led them to a Super Bowl only to later suit up for the Minnesota Vikings.

Even if Rodgers were open to playing for the Bears, that would be extremely tough to pull off. The Packers need to trade Rodgers to move him out of Green Bay, and they would never send their best player to a division rival. Also, Chicago just spent a high first-round pick on Justin Fields, and they seem content with making him their quarterback of the future.

The San Francisco 49ers learned first-hand that you don’t want to give the ball to “Bad Man” Aaron Rodgers when the game is on the line. Even if he has just 37 seconds and no time-outs to work with.

After having a 17-0 lead early in the second quarter in their Sunday Night Football clash against the 49ers, the Green Bay Packers found themselves behind 27-28 late in the fourth period. San Francisco managed to bounce back from a bad start and were less than a minute away from claiming a big win against their NFC rivals, thanks to Kyle Juszczyk’s touchdown.

Rodgers and the Packers offense took the field with 37 seconds left on the clock and had odds stacked against them. They were on their own 25-yard-line with all of their time-outs gone.

On the first play, Rodgers connected with his wideout Davante Adams for a 25-yard gain. Adam tried to get to the sidelines, but was tackled in the field with the time running out. Green Bay managed to set themselves and spike the ball with 20 seconds left.

After one incomplete pass, Rodgers and Adams connected again for 17 yards, and the Packers managed to spike the ball in time to give kicker Mason Crosby a 51-yard field goal try. As the time was winding down, Crosby’s shot went between the uprights, and the Packers started celebrating a memorable win.

Speaking with reporters after the game, Rodgers, who finished with 261 yards and two TDs, said that he had a feeling Crosby would make the FG and seal it for Green Bay.

“He’s gonna make it. That’s what he’s done his entire career,” Rodgers said. “He’s made a bunch of big kicks for us. I love him to death. We’ve been playing together for fifteen years, sitting next to each other every bus ride, every plane ride. He’s an incredible guy, and he’s so clutch.”

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers reached another important career milestone in Sunday’s 30-16 win over Philadelphia Eagles. Rodgers threw three touchdown passes in this game, reaching the 400 career TD mark.

Rodgers hit the mark in the third quarter, capping off an impressive 99-yard drive with a TD pass to Davante Adams. Aware of the magnitude of the moment, Adams kept the ball and presented it to Rodgers in the endzone.

“Pretty cool that Davante got it,” said Rodgers in the post-game press conference. “I didn’t do a whole lot on that play. It was a really good schemed play. He did the whole thing, stiff-armed his way into the end zone.”

Aaron Rodgers needed 193 regular-season games to reach 400 passing touchdowns, becoming the fastest to do so in NFL history. New Orleans Saints signal-caller Drew Brees previously held the record, reaching the mark in 205 games.

Rodgers is the seventh QB to throw 400 TDs, joining Brees, Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Brett Favre, Dan Marino, and Phillip Rivers. He is also the only one of the bunch to do it with less than 100 interceptions. The 37-year-old has only 88 career interceptions.

Rodgers is currently playing an MVP-caliber season, completing 68.9 percent of his passes over 3,395 passing yards, 36 TDs, and only four interceptions through Week 13. His stellar play has the Packers sitting at a 9-3 record, making a strong push to have the best record in the NFC.
