]]>“We would like to thank José on behalf of all of us at Roma for his passion and efforts since his arrival at the club,” club owners Dan and Ryan Friedkin stated. “We will always have great memories of his tenure at Roma, but we believe that an immediate change is in the best interests of the club. We wish Jose and his assistants all the best in their future endeavours.”
While Mourinho’s contract was due to expire at the end of the season, his time at the club was cut short, with Roma opting to replace him with club legend Daniele De Rossi.
Mourinho enjoyed an impactful tenure at Roma, leading them to win the 2022 Europa Conference League title in what was the Italian side’s first European final since 1991. This also ended an 11-year trophy drought for Roma. This season proved more challenging for Mourinho, with the team slipping down to ninth position in the Serie A table after winning just eight of their first 20 league matches.

]]>While Javi Garcia is still formally the head coach of Al Nassr, the club is already searching for his replacement after a series of bad results. While they are considering multiple candidates, Mourinho is their main target, and they are reportedly willing to offer him a contract worth $100 million across two years.
This isn’t the first time Mourinho has been linked with Nassr. Earlier this month, a series of reports detailed an offer of $60 million annually for the Portuguese manager to jointly coach Al-Nassr and the Saudi Arabia national team.
It is unclear whether Jose Mourinho has an interest in going to Saudi Arabia. He is currently doing well with AS Roma, guiding the club to the UEFA Europa Conference League trophy last season. Mourinho also has Roma in the UEFA Europa League quarter-finals in 2022-23 while the club sits at No.3 in Seria A.
Al Nassr is currently second in Saudi Pro League, trailing three points behind the league leaders Al-Ittihad.

]]>The tattoo shows Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League trophies, all of which Mourinho won. Each trophy also contains the colors of the club Mourinho won the trophies with.
The Champions League trophy has white and blue for Porto and black and blue for Inter Milan. The Europa League trophy has white and blue for Porto and red and white for Manchester United, while and Europa Conference League trophy, the latest on his resume, has Roma yellow and Roma red.
“The joy of the Roman people led me to do it,” said Mourinho about the tattoo. “Then I thought about something special, something that would honour all the clubs where I won European competitions. At the same time, I wanted a unique tattoo, one that, so far, I am the only one who can have it.”
Mourinho took over AS Roma ahead of the 2021-22 campaign after a struggling stint with Tottenham Hotspur. The 59-year-old finished sixth in Seria A but managed to lead them to win in the inaugural Europa Conference League. It was the club’s first trophy since Coppa Italia in 2007–08 and only the second trophy from European competitions after the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup win in 1960–61.

]]>During his post-match interview, Mourinho was highly complimentary of Bale, praising him for his calm temperament, intelligence, and determination in the fight to recover from injury.
This interview was not without controversy, however, as Mourinho exclaimed: “When I have five minutes I am going to Safari to look at Madrid’s websites to see what they say.”
This lashing out at Madrid may stem from the tumultuous tenure that Bale endured while at Los Blancos. For much of his career in Spain, Bale took heat for his string of injuries as well as his perceived lack of commitment to Madrid.
The Welsh winger previously played for Tottenham Hotspur from 2007 until 2013, when he was lured to Real Madrid for a hefty price tag exceeding $111 million. On September 19 of this year, Bale returned to Tottenham Hotspur on a one-year loan, with the club paying approximately $30.80 million in wages and loan fees for the player.
Before arriving at Spurs, Jose Mourinho managed Real Madrid from July 2010 until June 2013. He has since returned to Chelsea for a second tenure and managed Manchester United.

]]>Up first was the game between Premier League newcomers West Brom and Leicester City at The Hawthorns stadium. This occasion marked West Brom’s return to the top flight, after the team secured a second place finish in the Championship last season. As for Leicester City, they are on the hunt for a Champions League spot after narrowly missing out on a top four finish last season.
The Foxes proved too strong for West Brom, as they opened the scoring with a 56th-minute goal from Timothy Castagne. Jamie Vardy extended Leicester’s lead to 2-0 and then 3-0 with penalties in the 74th and 84th minutes.
Moving onto the second match of the evening, and Carlo Ancelotti’s Everton traveled to Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur. Last season proved to be disappointing for both major clubs, with Spurs finishing in sixth place while The Toffees ended the season in 12th.
Despite having the home ground advantage, Spurs were unable to find the back of the net. Ultimately, it was a 55th minute Dominic Calvert-Lewin goal that handed Everton the valuable 1-0 away win.
The next round of action sees Sheffield United face Wolves, while Chelsea travels to Brighton.

ESPN adds that the relationship between Ndombele and Mourinho is beyond repairable. The player is now looking to move away from Tottenham, and his agents are already exploring possible available options.
Tanguy Ndombele was one of the most sought-after players last summer, receiving offers from Barcelona, Paris Saint-Germain, and Bayern Munich. Ndombele, however, opted to join Tottenham in a transfer worth close to $70 million after being convinced by then-manager Mauricio Pochettino.
While Ndombele was a regular starter under Pochettino, things changed with Jose Mourinho’s arrival to the club. Since then, he was in and out of the starting lineup while Mourinho often criticized his performances.
Ndombele played 27 games in all competitions with Tottenham, scoring two goals and providing four assists.

According to reports, Mourinho was Tottenham’s first choice as Pochettino’s replacement and the team didn’t consider other candidates. The 56-year-old Portuguese manager inked a deal through the 2022-23 season and will reportedly receive a salary of around $19 million.
“In Jose, we have one of the most successful managers in football,” – said Spurs chairman Daniel Levy. “He has a wealth of experience, can inspire teams and is a great tactician. He has won honors at every club he has coached. We believe he will bring energy and belief to the dressing room.”
Jose Mourinho was out of a job for almost a year, being fired by Manchester United midway through the 2018/19 season for bad results. He previously also coached Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, and Real Madrid.

]]>In a recent interview with BeIN Sports France Mourinho revealed that he already turned down “three or four offers” but aims to have a team by June.
“It’s been two and a half months since I’ve been without coaching and I’m already preparing for my next challenge,” – said Mourinho. “I know exactly what I don’t want, that is why I’ve turned down three or four offers. I know what I want, not the name of the club, but the type of work and the workload. I want to coach a team starting in June, in time for preseason.”
Talking about his preferred destination, Mourinho said that he won’t be too picky about his next club, but that he wants to be in a place where he can win.
“It doesn’t matter where I go, I want to go to a place where I can still win,” – he added. “What sense does it make to have a philosophy of the game without a winning mentality? My best title will be the one I win next.”
Jose Mourinho has been linked with several teams in the recent months, including his former teams Benfica, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan. Real, however, decided to bring back Zinedine Zidane while Benfica and Inter Milan are expected to ride out the season with their current coaches.
