Former golf champion Tiger Woods claims 2018 is one of the best years of his career in spite of not winning anything so far. The 14-world major champion returned to the golf courses late in November 2017 after taking a break for health reasons in 2013.

Woods made a heroic run for his 15th major title at the recent US PGA Championship, coming only second to winner Brooks Koepka. As the 42-year old now prepares for the FedExCup golf tour later in September, he stays optimistic of a 2018 win and more fans by his side.

“I have been close to winning tournaments this year. I think if I keep giving myself opportunities, I’ll get the job done,” Woods told reporters.

Concerning the love from his fans, the American golfer said people are more appreciative of the player he has become and he loves it that way.

“I think people are more appreciative…they know I’m at the tail-end of my career,” Woods said.

Eyeing a win at the FedExCup Playoffs in which the winner collects $10 million, Woods says pacing himself is the best way to prepare for the tournament.

“It’s about pacing myself and making sure I don’t practice too much…and making sure my training schedule goes well,” Woods added.
