The Tennessee Titans have locked All-Pro defensive lineman Jeffery Simmons to a new extension that runs through 2027. The four-year deal is reportedly worth $94 million.

Simmons will receive a $24 million signing bonus as part of the agreement as well as $66 million in guaranteed money. The Mississippi State product was set to play out the fifth and final year of his rookie contract in 2023.

With this new contract, Simmons is now the second-highest-paid defensive lineman in the NFL. The only player with a higher salary than him is LA Rams’ star Aaron Donald, who signed a three-year, $95 million deal last year.

The Titans selected Jeffery Simmons with the 19th pick in 2019 despite the fact that he would enter his rookie season with a torn ACL. The team’s faith in Simmons paid off, as he immediately made an impact upon returning to the field. He ended up making seven starts in his first year as a pro and only missed three games in his next three seasons.

Simmons was selected to Second-Team All-Pro for the past two years while also receiving consecutive Pro Bowl nods. He finished the 2022 campaign with 54 tackles, 7.5 sacks, 14 QB hits, and seven pass deflections.
