Tomas Nosek equalized early into the third quarter to help the Golden Knights win Wednesday’s game against the New York Islanders 3-2.

Unlike most NHL nights, the more than 9,000 fans at the Barclays center were eerily quiet. The game was halted at the start of the third period after lights failed to illuminate the ice. But that didn’t stop the Golden Knights to chase a wait until the last minute.

With a goal down, Nosek scored the equalizer and gave the Knights a reason to fight for a comeback win. The Islanders, who feel to their sixth loss in eight games on Wednesday, had the opportunity to seal victory in their home arena. But after Nosek’s goal, Jonathan Marchessault and William Karlsson scored two more to ensure the game ended in a win in the Knights’ favor.

“It’s kind of hard playing here, but it’s no excuse,” Marchessault said. “There’s nights like that, but at the end of the day we found a way to get two points, and that’s the most important thing.”

The Knights would probably not have won the game were it not for Marc-Andre Fleury’s amazing display that led to 23 stops. Vegas now has 18 wins while the Islanders fell to their 12th loss this season.
