With the new NBA season underway, it’s time to talk about who may end up with the coveted MVP award when all is said and done. A handful of candidates are in the running, but who will reign supreme?

Luka Dončić

Coming off a stellar season, many NBA experts are predicting that the young Slovenian phenom will snag the MVP crown this year. At this point, nothing would really surprise us with this guy.

Giannis Antetokounmpo

The Greek Freak is coming off winning the aforementioned MVP award two years in a row. On one hand, that suggests he’ll win it again. On the other hand, voters may get bored and decide to give it to someone else.

James Harden

Harden has dominated the league in scoring over the last few years, with only one MVP to show for it. With a vengeance to prove himself in the playoffs, could this be the year he gets his second?

Kawhi Leonard

Somehow shockingly, the two-time NBA Finals MVP has never won a regular season MVP. Perhaps that says more about his clutch factor in the postseason, but for the sake of his legacy, hopefully this year will be the one that he finally gets it.

LeBron James

LeBron was awarded the MVP a total of four times throughout his career. Voters have backed off from him since, but if he leads the Lakers to the top of the West again, they may give him his fifth.

Kevin Durant

Coming off of a year-long injury, Durant is certainly a wild card. Then again… he’s Kevin Durant, so he’s certainly a candidate for this prestigious award.
