Toronto FC finally got enough of bad results under head coach Bob Bradley. The team announced on Monday that Bradley was fired following a series of bad results that saw Toronto win only three matches this season.

Technical director Mike Sorber and Bradley’s assistant coaches will also be leaving. Academy head coach Terry Dunfield will take over the team on an interim basis.

Bob Bradley was hired as Toronto FC’s head coach ahead of the 2022 MLS season. At the time, Bradley was expected to re-establish Toronto as a force in MLS, but that never happened.

In his first season in charge, Bradley led the team to only nine wins and 13th place in Eastern Conference. The 2023 season was supposed to be different due to the addition of Italian internationals Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi, but it started even worse. Currently, Toronto sits second-last on the standings, with a 3-10-7 record and 19 points from 20 games.

Another reason why Toronto decided to part ways with Bradley is his clashing with several of the team’s high-profile players. Bernardeschi previously openly questioned Bradley’s methods, which caused him to be briefly suspended.

Bob Bradley previously coached the USMNT as well as various clubs in MLS and Europe. His biggest success came with Chicago Fire, with whom he won MLS Cup in 1998.
