Despite being billed as the top candidate to be the new Tottenham Hotspur manager by the media, ex-Bayern Munich boss Julian Nagelsmann is not even in the running for the job anymore. According to soccer insider Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham is no longer interested in Nagelsmann and will proceed with other options.

Reportedly, the talks between the two sides broke down after Nagelsmann wanted to receive clarity over the London club’s transfer strategy and new sporting director.

ESPN’s James Olley also reported that Nagelsmann is out of the running while sharing more details about the process. According to Olley, the sources from the club told him that Tottenham actually never made a formal approach to Nagelsmann and that they are focused on other candidates.

There are several other names being linked with the Tottenham job, including Feyenoord’s Arne Slot and Mainz’s Bo Svensson. The Premier League side is also keeping tabs on Xabi Alonso and Ruben Amorim, two talented managers who did a great job with Bayer Leverkusen and Sporting Lisbon, respectively, this season.

Nagelsmann might still end up in London despite missing out on the Tottenham job. His name was previously linked with the vacant manager role with Chelsea, and the club is expected to interview him when they start the search in the summer.
