Leicester City received yet another blow to their hopes of a top four finish on Sunday, this time at the hands of Tottenham Hotspur. Having gone into the game while still licking the wounds from their shock 4-1 defeat to Bournemouth last weekend, the Foxes showed no signs of overcoming their slump as Spurs steamrolled them with a 3-0 scoreline.

The Foxes endured a torrid game from the get-go, handing Spurs a sixth-minute lead after James Justin deflected the ball into the back of his own net. Harry Kane doubled the home side’s lead in the 37th minute and went on to score his second goal and the team’s third on the stroke of half time.

While it may have come a little late in the season in terms of Champions League qualification, this result marks the third consecutive victory for Spurs as they surge into sixth place on the Premier League standings. As for Leicester, their back to back losses have severely impacted their hopes for retaining a position in the top four. While they currently sit in fourth place, Manchester United is level on points with them with a game in hand.
