Tottenham Hotspur has reportedly joined a number of top European teams who are interested in Chelsea center-back Antonio Rudiger.

Rudiger, who has been rumored to be on the move from the London club ever since Chelsea added Thiago Silva from PSG, hasn’t appeared in any of Chelsea’s first three Premier League matches of the season. While figuring as a semi-regular in the 2019-20 season, playing in 20 Premier League matches, the German international generally played well.

PSG, Roma, and Barcelona are among the other teams who have been interested in Rudinger throughout the past few weeks, but Tottenham could be an attractive option for the 27-year-old center-back. Coach Jose Mourinho is said to be looking for a center-back to join alongside Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth, and Toby Alderweireld in the team’s roster.

Nonetheless, it might be difficult for Tottenham to end up signing Rudinger unless they are willing to pay for his signature on a permanent deal. Chelsea is unlikely to loan away a first-team player to a Premier League rival, and they might be more willing to send him away on a loan deal abroad for the current season.

The summer transfer window is set to close next Monday, October 5th.
