United States’ international defender Geoff Cameron enjoyed his loan spell with English Championship side Queens Park Rangers so much, that he decided to stay around for one more year.

QPR announced on Thursday that they have signed Cameron on a one-year deal with an option to keep him for one additional year.

The 34-year-old spent the previous season with QPR as a loaned player from Stoke City, playing 19 games with the club scoring one goal and providing one assist.

“He is well-known by both the fans and the players, and his physicality is an asset as well.” –  said QPR’s manager Mark Warburton. “We’re delighted to welcome Geoff back to QPR.”

“It’s great to be back,” – Cameron added. “I really enjoyed my time here last year — it’s a family-orientated environment and this move is the best fit for myself and my family.”

Geoff Cameron started his professional career with Houston Dynamo, where he played for five years. His good performances caught the attention of Stoke City, for which he signed in 2012. Cameron ended up playing a total of 186 games with Stoke and scoring two goals.

Cameron was also a vital part of USMNT between 2010 and 2017, making 55 appearances for the senior team and contributing four goals.
