UEFA made a decision to complete the 2019/20 Champions League with a tournament held in Lisbon. This was reported by Sky Sports and Reuters, who also added that the tournament is set to take place in August.

Since the round-of-16 part of the competition was already underway when the season was suspended, UEFA’s plan mandates that the remaining duels of this phase will be completed as originally scheduled. The winners, alongside the teams that already clinched the spot in the quarterfinals, will then head to Lisbon in early August.

The tournament in Lisbon will be consisted out of single-elimination games, with quarterfinals being scheduled from August 12th to August 15th. Semifinals will take place on August 18th and August 19th, while the UEFA Champions League Finals are set for August 23rd.

The list of clubs that already secured their place in the quarterfinals includes Paris Saint-Germain, Atalanta, Atletico Madrid, and RB Leipzig.

In the remaining four duels, teams played one game apiece and need to pay rematches. Real Madrid and Manchester City played 1-2 in Spain while Chelsea suffered a heavy 3-0 loss to Bayern Munich at Stamford Bridge. Barcelona and Napoli played 1-1 in Italy, and Juventus will have to overcome 1-0 loss to Lyon at home.
