USMNT’s star winger Christian Pulisic is getting recognition for his superb performances with Chelsea in 2019/20. The Premier League announced on Friday that Pulisic received a nomination for Young Player of the Season award.

Although Pulisic was limited to just 25 Premier League games due to injuries, he made a valuable impact in helping Chelsea reach the Champions League spot. The 21-year-old winger scored nine goals while adding five assists.

Pulisic’s teammate Mason Mount also picked up the nomination after he played a key component in London club’s midfield in 2019/20. Mount finished the season with seven goals and five assists.

Chelsea duo is joined by Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, and Mason Greenwood, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, Aston Villa’s Jack Grealish, and Sheffield United’s Dean Henderson.

This presents the inaugural edition of the Young Player of the Season award, which is given to the “best-performing player who was aged 23 or younger at the start of the campaign.” The winner is determined by public vote.
