Despite Chelsea’s defensive struggles, United States’ international defender Matt Miazga won’t get a chance to add to his two appearances for the London club. Instead, Miazga is reportedly heading on another loan, with Belgian side Anderlecht being his most probable destinations.

If the transfer ends up going through, Miazga would play under Vincent Kompany. The Manchester City legend is considered one of the best center backs of his generation, giving the 25-year-old American a great opportunity to further improve his game.

The news about Miazga’s possible move was first reported by American Soccer Now’s Brian Sciaretta.

Matt Miazga came through New York Red Bulls’ academy and played three seasons with the club before making a highly-publicized move to Chelsea in 2015. Upon his arrival, Miazga made two Premier League appearances but failed to retain his place in the first team.

These two games turned out to be the only one Miazga would make for Chelsea, as he spent the next four seasons bouncing around on loans across Europe. He had stints with Vitesse in the Netherlands, Nantes in France, and Reading in second-tier of English domestic competition.

Miazga is U.S. international since 2015, and currently has 18 caps for the senior team.
