Veteran guard Alex Boone wants to play football again. Boone, who has been out of NFL since 2017, is reportedly in game shape and is looking for a team this year.

The news about Boone’s comeback first surfaced in February after he met with the prospective team during NFL Combine. Since then, the 33-year-old player has been training and is “finally healthy, and back near his playing weight.”

Boone is expected to have a lot of suitors, considering the fact that he can play both guard spots and would most likely be available on a cheap one-year deal at this point. Also, the teams are in need of depth due to a number of opt outs that have been lately taking place in the NFL due to coronavirus pandemic.

Alex Boone started his career with San Francisco 49ers, who signed him as an undrafted free agent in 2010. After struggling to find playing time in his first two years in NFL, Boone went on to start 49 games in San Francisco in the next four seasons.

Boone started 14 games for Minnesota Vikings in 2016, and 13 games with Arizona Cardinals in 2017, before deciding to end his career.
