The Baltimore Ravens believed they were getting badly-needed help at the offensive line when they claimed veteran tackle Brandon Knight off waivers earlier this week. But things didn’t exactly work out as planned for the Ravens.

Despite being awarded to the Ravens through waivers, Knight opted not to report to the team as scheduled on Wednesday. Baltimore’s head coach John Harbaugh confirmed the news to reporters, saying that the 24-year-old had personal reasons for the decision.

“I don’t really know the details on that,” Harbaugh said via the Baltimore Sun. “I think that was a personal decision on his part. So he’d have to answer that. I don’t know, but he decided not to report.”

Baltimore, owning Knight’s right regardless of his non-report, have placed the player on Reserve/Did Not Report list. This means that the Indiana product is still considered to be a member of the Ravens and would have to be released or traded if he wants to play elsewhere.

Brandon Knight entered the NFL in 2019 after signing with the Dallas Cowboys as an undrafted free agent. Knight went on to play 21 games as a Cowboy and even made 10 starts. He fell down the depth chart in 2021, however, and was waived by Dallas late last week.
