Veteran wide receiver Chris Hogan has completed the AFC East tour. After previously suiting up for Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Bills, and New England Patriots, Hogan now agreed to a deal with New York Jets.

Hogan signed a one-year deal with the Jets, while the financial terms remained undisclosed. He arrives in New York after spending an injury-riddled 2019 season with Carolina Panthers and finishing the year with just eight catches for 67 yards.

Jets found themselves in need of depth on a wideout position after seeing several of their players go down with an injury. Rookie Denzel Mims, who is a second-rounder out of Baylor, is dealing with hamstring issues while the second-year WR Vyncint Smith is going to need to see a specialist for his core injury.

“He’s somebody whose name has come up quite a bit,” said Jets’ head coach Adam Gase of Hogan. “He’s a guy who can come in and pick up the offense very quickly. Obviously, we competed against him quite a bit. He’s a good fit for us.”

Chris Hogan entered the league as an undrafted free agent in 2011. However, he mostly spent time on practice squads early on, and got his first NFL snaps with Buffalo in 2013.

Hogan’s most prolific years were with Patriots, especially in 2016, when he finished the regular season with 38 receptions for 680 yards and four touchdowns. He won a Super Bowl ring with New England that year, before adding another one in 2018.
