Pervis Estupinan, who enjoyed a breakout season on loan at Osasuna last season in La Liga, will go back to Spain after signing a seven-year deal with Villarreal CF for a reported $19 million transfer fee.

Estupinan, whose goal this season was to move to a new team after his former team Watford was relegated from the Premier League last season, joins a Villarreal squad that will be competing in the Europa League competition this season and has top four goals in the La Liga season.

The Ecuador international, who signed for Watford back in 2017 but spent every season with the club on loan in Spain, got his first shot in La Liga and was a crucial part of a newly-promoted Osasuna side that surprisingly achieved a 10th place finish.

Estupinan played in 36 games, scoring one goal and providing six assists as he impressed with his lightning-quick speed and talent both in attack and while defending.

The 22-year-old player heads into the new season as the primary candidate at the left-back position after long-time starter Alberto Moreno suffered a knee injury in pre-season training which is expected to keep him out for the entire season.

Estupinan will debut either this weekend or the next for the Yellow Submarine.
