Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green has been ruled out for the Christmas Day game against the Milwaukee Bucks due to a foot injury.
Green missed out on his team’s NBA season opener against the Brooklyn Nets on Wednesday because of the same injury. The Warriors evidently suffered from Green’s absence, having lost by a significant margin of 99-125.
Warriors head coach Steve Kerr remarked that he expects Green to return to action either during the Warriors’ upcoming game against the Chicago Bulls on Sunday or Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons. After receiving an MRI last week, the Warriors’ medical team decided to list Green’s injury as day-to-day.
Kerr remained hopeful about Green’s return to action. In a post-practice call of the press, Kerr explained that: “He had a really good workout today—practiced fully with the team and did a session after practice on his own for conditioning.”
A three-time NBA All-Star, Green has spent his entire NBA career with the San Francisco-based team. He proved himself to be a crucial component of the Warriors’ three NBA Championship titles in 2015, 2017, and 2018.
