Dontrelle Inman’s time with the Washington Football Team has come to an end. The organization parted ways with the veteran wide receiver over the weekend in order to free a roster place for rookie Antonio Gandy-Golden.

Inman joined Washington in August and has played in nine games (two starts) this season. He had 18 catches for 163 yards and two touchdowns. The move was confirmed on Washington’s social media.

Gandy-Golden spent the previous 10 weeks on the injured reserve with a hamstring injury but started practicing last week. Washington now hopes he can step up and provide a boost for the team down the stretch as they hope to make the playoffs for the first time since 2015.

Dontrelle Inman, on the other hand, might still be able to find a team to continue playing for in 2020. He is an intriguing option for playoff teams and could be picked up off waivers to provide depth in the WR position.

Inman entered the league in 2011 as an undrafted free agent. He suited up for six different franchises besides Washington, including the LA Chargers and Indianapolis Colts. He has 188 career catches for 2,445 yards and 13 scores.
