Expect to see wideout Josh Gordon on the football field sooner than later. According to multiple reports, Gordon can play in the NFL again after being reinstated by the league on Friday.

Gordon was suspended in late 2019 and missed the entire 2020 NFL season as a result. He applied for reinstatement back in July and successfully pleaded his case after receiving a recommendation by the NFL Players Association.

The news was confirmed to ESPN’s Adam Schefter by Gordon’s agent Zac Hiller.

“We are grateful that the NFL appreciates the work that Josh put in, and now he has earned another opportunity to be part of this league,” Hiller told Schefter. “We are proud of Josh, and I know all the fans can’t wait to see him on Sundays.”

Gordon’s last NFL spell was with the Seattle Seahawks. He played five games for the team in 2019, making seven catches for 139 yards. The 30-year-old star inked a new deal with the Seahawks ahead of the 2020 season, but the suspension prevented him from honoring the contract. It is unclear whether he’ll return to Seattle or resume his NFL career with another team.

While being out of NFL, Josh Gordon had a short stint in Fan Controlled Football league. He played for the Zappers alongside his former Cleveland Browns teammate Johnny Manziel and scored two touchdowns in his debut.
