Veteran wideout Allen Robinson is entering the final year of his contract with Chicago Bears, and it appears that his stay at Soldier Field is all but guaranteed.

In a recent chat with ESPN, Robinson admitted that Bears didn’t approach him or his representatives to talk about an extension.

“They haven’t. We haven’t heard nothing,” said Robinson. “I think just as far as me and my agent, from the conversations that we’ve had, we’re not necessarily anticipating hearing anything at this point.”

On several previous occasions, Robinson said that he would like to stay in Chicago past 2020. However, he’s aware that things might turn out differently.

“I can’t predict the future, so I don’t know if that will happen at all,” he added. “For myself, with this being my second time going into a contract year, I know how to mentally prepare myself, and I know how to block all that out.”

Although he isn’t considered a star receiver, Allen Robinson has a solid reputation around the league and would probably have plenty of suitors in case that Bears decide to let him go. This will especially be the case if he replicates the 2019’s production when he caught 98 passes for 1,147 yards and seven TDs.

Robinson arrived in Chicago in 2018 after spending the first four years of his career with Jacksonville Jaguars. He has a Pro Bowl appearance for 2015 when he also led the league in TDs with 14.
