Los Angeles Rams aren’t done with spending their money after signing star corner Jalen Ramsey to a record-breaking deal. Just several days later, the Rams also signed wideout Cooper Kupp to a new contract that will keep the 27-year-old player with the franchise another three years after 2020.

Kupp and Rams reportedly talked about the extension for some time now, but only made significant progress in the past several days. The final agreement will see Kupp earn $48 million in 2021, 2022, and 2023 combined. His base salary for this year is $2.13 million.

Rams confirmed the deal over the weekend on their official social media.

It was important for the Rams to secure Cooper Kupp’s services long-term, as he is one of the favorite targets for quarterback Jared Goff and started 2020 as the team’s No. 1 wideout.

Kupp entered the NFL in 2017 and had a promising first two years, combining 102 catches for 1,435 yards and 11 touchdowns in 23 games. He then built upon this with a breakthrough season in 2019, racking up 94 receptions for 1,161 yards and 10 touchdowns.

With the Rams looking to return to playoffs after missing out last year, Kupp is now expected to do even better in 2020. And don’t be surprised if he does as he doesn’t have to worry about his future anymore.
