LA Galaxy and LAFC are set to face each other in El Tráfico derby this week, trying to clear the doubts about who is the best team in Los Angeles. However, when it comes to the question of who is the best player in the match, there is no doubt. At least for Galaxy’s star striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

When asked by reporters who is the better player between him and LAFC’s Carlos Vela, Ibrahimovic said that the answer is him and it’s not even close.

“By far, because if he’s in his prime. How old is he? Twenty-nine,” – said Ibrahimovic. “And he’s playing in MLS, and he’s in his prime. When I was 29 [I was in Europe]. Big difference.”

Ibrahimovic also discussed the derby itself with the reporters, saying that these kind of games keep him “alive.”

“That [derby] atmosphere keeps me alive, that keeps me on my toes,” – he added. “Hopefully it will be a nice atmosphere like that on Friday. I think it will be. It gives you energy it gives you adrenaline.”

While it’s debatable who is the better player between the two, Carlos Vela has proved himself to be more efficient in front of the goal this season compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Vela scored 19 goals so far and is the league’s leading scorer, while Ibrahimovic is currently on 13 goals.
