Just days after saying that he is not retired from NFL, veteran wide receiver DeSean Jackson found a team to play for in 2022. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Jackson signed with the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday and will join the team’s practice squad.

Jackson, who had a workout with the Ravens the same day he inked the deal, is expected to be elevated to the team’s active roster for Sunday’s game against divisional rivals Cleveland Browns.

Jackson is expected to add some boost to Ravens’ passing game, which was mediocre at best so far in 2022. The 35-year-old player should especially be useful as a deep threat for quarterback Lamar Jackson, who is currently one of worst signal-callers in the league when airing it out. Only 21% of Jackson’s passes have traveled 20+ yards by air, which is the second-lowest percentage among starting QBs.

DeSean Jackson is best known for his time with the Philadelphia Eagles, where he had three Pro Bowls and one All-Pro nod between 2008 and 2013. Jackson later embarked on stints with Washington and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, before returning to the Eagles for a second spell in 2019.

Jackson split the 2021 NFL campaign between the Los Angeles Rams and the Las Vegas Raiders. He had a combined 20 catches for 454 yards and two touchdowns.
