]]>FC Dallas struggled mightily this season, managing only six wins. The loss to the Dynamo was their 11th and put them even further behind in the Western Conference playoff race. The team now sits at No. 11 in the standings with 27 points from 26 matches.
“We believe a coaching change is in the best interest of the club at this time to help us achieve our goals,” FC Dallas President Dan Hunt said in a statement. “I want to thank Luchi for everything he has done for this organization. We wish him all the best.”
After relieving Gonzalez of his duties, Dallas announced that Director of Soccer Operations Marco Ferruzzi would take over the head coaching duties on an interim basis.
Gonzalez took over FC Dallas ahead of the 2019 MLS season after previously serving as the academy director for the organization. In his first two seasons at the helm, Gonzalez led Dallas to postseason appearances, although the team failed to advance past the second round. He leaves with a 29-26-32 head coaching record.

]]>Tessmann is expected to head to Germany at the end of the month if he’s invited to the United States men’s national team, or right away if he misses the cut. The duration of his stay with Bayern will be determined by the start of the 2021 MLS season.
There’s a good chance that this is the first step in Bayern acquiring Tessmann’s services. He actually wouldn’t even be the first FC Dallas player to have the same career path. In 2018, USMNT defender Chris Richards joined the Bavarian giants on loan from FC Dallas and managed to get a permanent deal one year later.
Tanner Tessmann showed great promise in 2020, which was his first pro season with FC Dallas. The 19-year-old youngster finished the campaign with 19 games and one assist under his belt while managing to make nine starts. He also played in both of the team’s playoff games.

]]>The post USMNT, FC Dallas RB Reggie Cannon Joins Boavista for $3 Million appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Boavista, who will reportedly pay Cannon’s previous club FC Dallas a $3 million transfer fee, had established himself as one of the MLS’s top young talents in recent seasons.
In addition, Cannon has made 10 appearances for the US Men’s National Team since making his debut in 2018, and is considered to be a favorite for a potential 2022 World Cup spot.
The Chicago native, who joined FC Dallas back in 2017, was linked to several potential moves ahead of last season, but signed a four-year contract extension with the MLS club. However, it appears that Cannon is now ready to take his talents to Portugal, which is considered to have one of Europe’s top non-Big Five leagues.
Boavista, located in the city of Porto, finished in 12th place in Liga NOS last season and will be looking to improve on what was considered a disappointing campaign. Cannon is considered to be the favorite to step in and start for the team at the right-back position, even if it takes him a few weeks to get up to speed in his new home.
Boavista will open its season on Saturday, September 19th against Nacional.

]]>The highest scoring game of the night came in the form of a 4-4 draw between Portland Timbers and Real Salt Lake. Portland found themselves desperate to redeem themselves following a 3-0 drubbing by Seattle Sounders, while Real Salt Lake was looking to replicate their 4-1 victory over Colorado Rapids.
The other high-scoring games of the evening were Philadelphia Union’s 4-1 victory over DC United, along with LA Galaxy’s nail-biting 3-2 win over San Jose Earthquakes.
In one of the most crucial clashes of the night, former Eastern Conference leaders Columbus Crew were held to a goalless draw by fierce rivals FC Cincinnati. Due to coming away with a single point, Columbus failed to take back the number one position from new leaders FC Toronto, who currently lead the standings by one point.
Western Conference leaders Sporting Kansas City were held to a 1-1 draw by Colorado Rapids after being reduced to ten men. This result did little to weaken Kansas City, however, as the team still leads the Western Conference standings by a five-point margin.
Tomorrow’s action sees MLS newcomers, Nashville SC and Inter Miami, face off, while reigning champions Seattle Sounders take on LAFC.
