The post Seahawks Draft QB Jalen Milroe, Trade Sam Howell to Vikings appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Milroe was viewed as a potential first-round pick early in his college career but his draft stock plummeted after he struggled in 2024. He was 9–4 as a starter last season while throwing for 2,844 yards, 16 touchdowns, and 11 picks. Despite the struggles, teams looking for a developmental quarterback like the Seahawks were intrigued by his high ceiling.
With Milroe on board, the Seahawks had a crowded quarterback room on their hands. He was the fifth signal-caller on their hands, which prompted the franchise to put Howell on the trading block.
The Vikings, looking for a backup to presumed starter J.J. McCarthy, jumped on the opportunity and traded a No. 142 in exchange for Howell and No. 172.
Howell has 20 games, including 18 starts, since entering the league in 2022 as a fifth-round pick. He completed 62.6 percent of his passes while throwing for 4,139 yards, 22 touchdowns, and 23 interceptions.
The Seahawks started the offseason by trading their starting quarterback Geno Smith to the Las Vegas Raiders. They went on to sign Sam Darnold to a 3-year, $100.5 million contract to fill the position. Curiously, Darnold was the starter for the Vikings last season.
Aside from Darnold and Milroe, the Seahawks also have last year’s backup Drew Lock, and Jaren Hall, another former Vikings quarterback, on their roster.

]]>Paul also became just the third player with 82 appearances in a season at the age of 39. John Stockton did it for the Utah Jazz in 2001–02, before repeating the feat at the age of 40, and Michael Jordan did it for the Washington Wizards in 2002–03.
“It’s crazy,” Paul said after the game in which he had 15 points, seven rebounds, six assists, and four steals. “I was talking to my wife about this. When you’re sort of in it, you’re not really thinking about it. It’s like, ‘OK, it’s Game 30. OK, it’s Game 40-something. It’s game such and such.'”
Paul was one of three Spurs players to play in all 82 games this season. The other two were Julian Champagnie and Harrison Barnes.
Chris Paul joined the San Antonio Spurs in the offseason, signing a one-year, $10.46 million deal with the franchise. He was brought in to serve as a mentor to the Spurs’ young core and received rave reviews from the coaching staff for his efforts.
Paul finished the season averaging 8.8 points, 3.6 rebounds, and 7.4 assists per game. The Spurs tumbled down the standings after a good start, mostly due to Victor Wembanyama’s season-ending injury, and finished the campaign at No. 13 in the West with a 34-48 record.

]]>The post Ex-Knicks Star Carmelo Anthony Elected to Hall of Fame appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, Anthony was notified on Wednesday that he was elected to the Hall of Fame as part of the 2025 class. Anthony was announced as one of the finalists in February, alongside the likes of three-time Defensive Player of the Year Dwight Howard and WNBA legend Sue Bird.
Following Charania’s reports, Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James congratulated Anthony via a post on X.
After leading Syracuse to the school’s first-ever NCAA title as a freshman, Carmelo Anthony entered the 2003 NBA Draft and was selected third overall by the Denver Nuggets. He spent seven full seasons with the Nuggets before forcing a trade to his hometown Knicks midway through 2010–11. Anthony also suited up for the Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets, Portland Trail Blazers, and the Lakers towards the end of his NBA career.
During his time in the league, Anthony earned 10 All-Star honors and six All-NBA selections. He was also the NBA scoring champion in 2013 and got elected to the NBA 75th Anniversary Team.
Anthony is also known for his contributions to the United States men’s national basketball team. He represented Team USA at four Olympics and won three gold medals.

]]>The post Carlos Alcaraz Exits 2025 Miami Open in the Second-Round After Loss to David Goffin appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Goffin, currently the No. 55 player in the world, bounced back after losing the first set (5-7) and took the following two sets (6-4, 6-3) easier than expected. He relied on his powerful forehand, which gave Alcaraz trouble for the better part of the match, and forced the Spaniard to commit 43 unforced errors.
Speaking after the match, Alcaraz was critical of himself, saying that he didn’t raise his level when needed and felt like he was losing confidence.
“It was a very poor performance on my part, I admit it, he was a better player than me,” Alcaraz added. “After the first set, I think he started to play better while my level declined, even though he was already playing well.”
Alcaraz opened the 2025 season by being eliminated in the quarter-finals of Australian Open before winning Rotterdam Open. He also reached quarter-finals in Doha and semi-finals in Indian Wells.
Goffin, on the other hand, is past the second-round in Miami for the first time since 2019. His best result at the tournament was his semi-finals appearance in 2016. His next opponent is American Brandon Nakashima.
The 2025 Miami Open already featured several other surprise exits. Among them is the world’s No.8 Daniil Medvedev being ousted in straight sets by unseeded Jaume Munar and 11-seed Holger Rune lost to Reilly Opelka, the world’s No. 145 player.

]]>The post Buffalo Bills and QB Josh Allen Agree to 6-Year, $330 Million Contract appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Reportedly, Allen signed a six-year, $330 million contract that comes with $250 million in guaranteed money. This is the largest guarantee ever given to an NFL player, topping the $230 million that the Cleveland Browns gave to QB Deshaun Watson in 2022.
Allen’s average annual salary of $55 million is tied for the second highest in the NFL, with Joe Burrow (Cincinnati Bengals), Trevor Lawrence (Jacksonville Jaguars), and Jordan Love (Green Bay Packers) earning the same figure on a yearly basis. Dallas Cowboys’ Dak Prescott is at the top of the list with an average annual salary of $60 million.
The Bills confirmed Allen’s extension but didn’t disclose financial terms.
Josh Allen earned NFL MVP honors in 2024 after throwing for 3,731 yards and 28 touchdowns while adding 531 yards on the ground and 12 rushing TDs. This made him the first player in NFL history with 25 passing touchdowns and 10 rushing touchdowns.
Since entering the league as the No. 7 pick in 2018, Josh Allen compiled a 76-34 record as a starter. He earned three Pro Bowl nods and two Second-team All-Pro selections. His 260 combined touchdowns are the most in NFL history throughout the player’s first seven seasons as a pro.

]]>The post Luka Doncic Becomes 3rd Player Ever With a Triple-Double Against All 30 NBA Teams appeared first on yoursportspot.com.
]]>Doncic finished the night with a triple-double, scoring 19 points and adding 15 rebounds and 12 assists. It was his 91st career triple-double and made him only the third player to have a triple-double against all 30 NBA teams.
The only players to achieve this feat besides Doncic are his Lakers teammate LeBron James and Denver Nuggets’ Russell Westbrook.
The Dallas Mavericks opted to trade Doncic to the Lakers ahead of the NBA trade deadline, receiving All-Star Anthony Davis, shooting guard Max Christie, and a first-round pick in exchange. The move isn’t turning out well for the Mavs at the moment, as they went 5-5 since the trade while Davis will miss at least two weeks due to an injury.
The Lakers, on the other hand, have compiled an 8-2 record during that time and are currently riding a three-game winning streak. Doncic is also getting into rhythm after a slow start, putting up 32 points against the Nuggets earlier this week and now having a triple-double against the Lakers.

]]>Hill, who is considered the fastest player in the NFL, previously claimed that he would beat Lyles in a 50-yard race while Lyles responded by offering Hill to face him in a 100m race. The two continued to exchange verbal jabs before finally deciding to settle the score.
Hill and Lyles announced their intention to race earlier this week in a joint interview with People magazine. The two still haven’t settled on the distance or the location of the race. However, the event will likely take place before USATF Championships in July, where Lyles is set to compete.
“This has been an ongoing thing for quite some time now, and I mean, everybody’s seen the back and forth on social media,” Hill told People. “I’ve been very adamant to show people what real, true speed looks like.”
“I’m the world’s fastest. I did at the Olympics. I do it at world championships. I do it wherever it’s needed to be done,” said Lyles. “And if I gotta go down and, you know, beat up on Tyreek to prove that I’m the world’s fastest, then it’s gonna be done.”
Lyles has three Olympic medals on his resume, including gold at 100m at the Paris Olympics and two bronze medals at 200m in 2020 and 2024. He also has six gold medals and one silver medal from World Championships.
Hill excelled in track and field in high school and college before deciding to turn his focus to football. His most recent track and field was at the USA Track & Field Masters Indoor Championships in 2023, where he won the 60-meter dash.

]]>Reportedly, the deal will see Spurs receive Fox and veteran Jordan McLaughlin from the Kings. Sacramento will get LaVine from the Bulls and Sidy Cissoko from the Spurs while also receiving three first-round picks and three second-round picks. Finally, the Bulls will get Zach Collins and Tre Jones from the Spurs, and Kevin Huerter from the Kings, and re-acquire their own first-round pick from 2025.
The deal will see the Spurs finally get another star to complement their franchise centerpiece in Victor Wembanyama. San Antonio managed to do so without scarifying their promising young players or giving up a big chunk of the draft assets they have piled up over the last couple of years.
Despite struggling with three-point shooting this season, Fox is putting together another impressive campaign in 2024-25. He is currently averaging 25.0 points to go with 6.1 assists and a career-high 5.0 rebounds.
Kings’ decision to move on from Fox isn’t surprising considering that the All-Star point guard showed little intention of remaining in Sacramento. Despite being offered an extension on multiple occasions, Fox rejected the opportunity to commit to the franchise, something which Kings took as a sign that they have to act quickly in order not to lose him for nothing when his contract expires in the summer of 2026.
In LaVine, the Kings received a polarizing player but one that they have under contract for several more years and who can put up big numbers on the offense. LaVine is currently playing the most efficient basketball of his career, shooting 44.6% from behind the arc and 51.1% from the floor. He is averaging 24.0 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 4.5 assists per game.
Finally, the Bulls are happy to finally move LaVine after shopping him for the past two seasons without much success. They also get several movable contracts and the opportunity to pick in the lottery in the 2025 NBA Draft if their season unravels.

]]>The Los Angeles Lakers’ LeBron James will be one of the players leading the Western Conference, after making his record 21st All-Star selection. He served as the All-Star captain on six different occasions, but this concept was eventually abandoned last year.
In addition to James, the list of the Western Conference starters also includes Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (Oklahoma City Thunder), Stephen Curry (Golden State Warriors), Nikola Jokić (Denver Nuggets), and Kevin Durant (Phoenix Suns).
As for the Eastern Conference, the Milwaukee Bucks forward Giannis Antetokounmpo earned a spot for his ninth consecutive year. He’ll be joined by Jalen Brunson (New York Knicks), Donovan Mitchell (Cleveland Cavaliers), Karl-Anthony Towns (New York Knicks), and Jayson Tatum (Boston Celtics).
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will mark another attempt to shake this tournament up. It will embrace a four-team tournament format, consisting of two semi-finals and the championship. Four teams of eight will get to play three games throughout one night, and one of them will consist of the winner of the Rising Stars Challenge.
The 2025 NBA All-Star Game will take place on February 16 at the Chase Center in San Francisco, California.

Speaking with reporters after the match, Kyrgios said that he played with “65% of my capacity.”
“For [the fans] to really see me fighting and still giving me that energy, it meant a lot, because I feel like I’ve given my life to tennis and I’ve tried to give them a show every time I go out there,” Kyrgios said.
Kyrgios added that he doesn’t see himself playing another singles match at Australian Open. He is scheduled to play in this year’s doubles tournament with Thanasi Kokkinakis.
“Realistically, I can’t see myself playing a singles match here again,” he shared.
When asked about whether 2025 will be his last season, Kyrgios didn’t provide a definite answer but said he intends to play at the remaining three Grand Slams this year and hopes to “make some noise at Wimbledon.”
Nick Kyrgios achieved his highest ranking in 2016 when he was the No. 13 tennis player in the world. His biggest success was his 2022 finals appearance at Wimbledon, and he also won a doubles title at the Australian Open in the same year.
