Manchester City will sign a five year contract with the 23 year old player for a fee of $79 million. This will become the biggest transfer Manchester City has made so far, setting the bar higher than the last record set with the signing of Riyad Mahrez in 2018 for $75 million.
Manchester City’s official website released a statement saying that they are delighted to announce the signing of Spanish midfielder Rodri.
Rodri started his professional career in 2015 in the Spanish club Villarreal where he played until 2018 when he was acquired by his former club Atletico Madrid.

Nicolas Tagliafico had a great season, he scored eight assists and six goals for Ajax and his accomplishments helped the team in their pursuit of the Dutch and European title. Director of football affairs Marc Overmars said on the club’s website that Tagliafico’s decision to stay was a good signal to the group.
